Who is the Raucous Caucus?
Raucous Caucus is a collective of companies who produce animated experiences with and for diverse audiences and participants. We are rabble-rousing artists with a penchant for puppetry, image-based theatre, and passing on our rambunctious stylings to emerging and unsuspecting artists.
Raucous Caucus was established in 2008 as a collective group of four companies invested in practising the broadest interpretation of puppetry. These are Shadowland, Clay & Paper, Puppetmongers Theatres and Jumblies Theatre & Arts. We provide mutual support through shared philosophies, resources, personnel, advocacy and assist with each other's projects. Within the collective we represent nearly 200 years of theatre practice and organizational capacity.
Our work represents a vast array of styles, techniques and forms, including: shadow, rod, giant, table-top, 2D puppetry, and toy theatre, digital, crankie
movies, masks, sculpture, costume, installation, lanterns, fire, music, song, stilt-walking, immersive environments, celebratory outdoor performance, and interdisciplinary spectacle.
